Drone missions — planning, permits, live ops.
A web-based 3D operations platform for unmanned aviation in German airspace — planning, the authority-compliant approval workflow, live operations and full video delivery in a single tool. One system for civil and security-critical missions alike. From the mission plan to go-live: one codebase, one container stack, one login.
One platform — civil and security-critical.
The same system carries commercial and government/defense operations — the difference is the mission, not the tool.
- Infrastructure inspection, photogrammetry, plant and grid monitoring.
- Port, traffic and logistics drones; long-range scientific missions.
- SORA-compliant permitting keeps commercial operations legal and auditable.
- Emergency services, critical-infrastructure protection, border and site security, situational awareness.
- Airspace deconfliction from ADS-B, AIS and Remote-ID; live video with encrypted multi-destination relay.
- On-premise / airgap-capable data holding and a revision-safe mission log — sovereign by design.
Plan the mission on a 3D globe.
A real 3D terrain globe with buildings as the planning canvas — waypoints, corridors and safety volumes in space.
Terrain globe & basemaps
3D world terrain plus a switchable building layer, eight basemaps (aerial, topographic, streets, hillshade …) and a 2D↔3D toggle.
Route with a safety corridor
Set waypoints by click, height per point as AGL, drag-and-drop, a configurable 3D flight corridor and terrain-aware height poles with distance labels.
Safety volumes on the fly
Flight Geography, Contingency Volume and Ground Risk Buffer are computed from the route, cruise speed and reaction time — visualised as transparent 3D shapes, recomputed on every change.
Models with specs
A pre-filled database of makes and technical specs, frame-type detection (quad, hexa, VTOL …) and battery-endurance calculation in the sim panel.
Fly the route before takeoff
Play / pause / reset at 1×–20× speed, an animated drone following the route, a leg counter, battery indicator and a visibility check against the camera position.
MAVLink waypoints
Export the route as QGroundControl waypoints (AGL / MSL / RELATIVE), plus mission-end options: land at last, return-to-home or a free landing point.
From conflict check to the permit package.
Authoritative German drone geozones, automatic conflict detection and an application pack the aviation authority expects.
35 authoritative layers
The official drone geozones (airspace, nature, security, infrastructure, traffic …) in 6 categories — authoritative for permits, individually toggleable.
Route vs. every zone
Automatic intersection test of the route against each zone polygon, with a per-layer hit list and clickable conflict points.
Linked, not copied
Each layer carries its legal basis (LuftVO, EU 2019/947, BNatSchG …), linked to the official source — always current, never a stale copy.
Concept of Operations
A ConOps as DOCX / PDF, auto-filled with mission data, operator profile and SORA volumes — laid out to match authority expectations.
Ready for the authority
A complete pack — operator profile, mission data, SORA volumes, conflict analysis and ConOps — with automatic authority mapping per federal state.
Master data & contacts
Central operator master data drives the mapping; an authorities overview lists contacts, responsibilities and processing-time experience.
See the airspace around the mission.
ADS-B
Live aircraft along the mission region, refreshed every 30 s and clustered on the globe when traffic is dense.
AIS
Live vessel tracks via AIS WebSocket — relevant for port, coastal and inland-waterway missions.
Remote-ID
A Remote-ID receiver interface with bounding-box query — other UAS in the area on the map.
Wind limit check
Current weather and wind at the start point (DWD model), compared against the drone's wind limit — green / amber / red.
A full media layer — ingest to browser.
13 ingest protocols, browser playback, recording, relay and a multi-cam cockpit — built in, not bolted on.
13 protocols
RTSP, RTMP, SRT, WebRTC, MPEG-TS, RTP, HLS, UDP — plus NDI, SDI and HDMI via a dedicated broadcast bridge. From drone downlink to studio camera.
Sub-second in the browser
HLS (low-latency), WebRTC (sub-second for the ops cockpit) and optional MPEG-DASH — every gateway stream hands over all client URLs at once, with a copy button.
Recorded & auditable
Fragmented MP4, browser-playable, with an automatic recording scanner (start, size, status, duration), configurable retention and per-stream play / download / delete.
Multi-destination push
Push a stream to several targets at once (RTMP / SRT / RTSP) — YouTube Live, Twitch, an SRT endpoint at the client or an RTSP restream into the command vehicle. Copy-stream, no re-encoding.
Cockpit grid
A floating multi-cam grid (1×1, 2×1, 2×2), stream picker per cell, pop-out to a second display and cross-window sync between browser windows (e.g. director monitor + cockpit).
Find sources on the LAN
ONVIF discovery for IP cameras (with a suggested RTSP URL), plus NDI-sender and DeckLink-device discovery — one click fills the stream form.
Coordinate the team — and log everything.
- One chatroom per mission, WebSocket-live to all connected clients.
- Roles: pilot, OSC, staff, observer, safety — with an editable identity chip.
- Quick reactions (understood · wait · ready · abort · land now) and sound-ping + browser notification.
- File upload (images + PDF/TXT/JSON/ZIP) by click or drag-and-drop, with image preview.
- System events land in the chat as a logbook — mission created, waypoint set, drone chosen, simulation started, landing point set.
- The full history is persisted in Postgres as a revision-safe audit trail.
- Recording persistence with a completeness flag — verifiable after the fact.
- Everything on your own infrastructure — CORS locked to the frontend, control API only inside the container network.
